The Crab King Fish Port Seafood Bistro: Reviews & Ratings
Thank you so much! The crab we ordered was so tasty. The atmosphere is the best in BC. You took care of our kid, provided the color books, toys. Thank you We will certainly come here more and more times
I recently had the pleasure of dining at a cozy waterfront restaurant with a warm, rustic interior. The wooden beams and soft lighting created a relaxed, inviting atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a meal with a view of the boats docked outside. The space felt open and bright thanks to the large windows that let in plenty of natural light, even on a drizzly day. The seafood was the star of the show. I indulged in a beautifully presented seafood platter that included scallops, oysters, and shrimp, all generously covered in garlic and finely chopped herbs. The scallops, in particular, were cooked to perfection—tender and flavorful, complemented by the mild sweetness of the garlic. The prawns were fresh and juicy, and the oysters were served with a slight tang that paired well with the overall richness of the dish. To accompany the meal, I had a glass of Russell Brewing’s beer, which added a crisp, refreshing contrast to the savory seafood. The combination of the food, drinks, and the tranquil ambiance made the experience thoroughly enjoyable. This spot is a hidden gem for seafood lovers, offering both quality and atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a relaxed dining experience by the water.
Stopped in today For the first time and had the softshell crab burger along with the onion rings. We also ordered the salmon, fish and chips. Soft crab burger, Crab portion Was much smaller than shown in the photos. A little bit to Oceany for my liking also. However, the onion rings and the salmon, fish and chips were excellent, Especially the salmon, which was very lightly battered just like I like it. Also, the tartar sauce is excellent! Service is average, our food came, and we were not checked on during our stay, but the staff did come by and clear a few plates and dropped off a couple of napkins after I requested them. The restaurant is located on the Barge, which is nice, but I feel that the interior needs a little bit of an upgrade - seems a little bit worn.
We came here to try the grilled garlic abalones, scallops, and oysters with garlic sauce. It was pretty good. I enjoyed it and wished it had more flavour to the sauce. The atmosphere by the water is nice, and the staff are really nice. I'd come back again and try something different next time!
Stopped over for a quick lunch one day while walking around the wharf- we enjoyed our meal. With the Asian style fish & chips and yam fries. The service was excellent, very kind and its quite nice to be sitting near the water. Would recommend:)
I recommend this restaurant. We stopped here as we were walking around Fisherman’s Wharf. The cook at the time was Cantonese. We asked for our dishes with a Chinese style. We got a whole Dungeness Crab, steamed oysters and steamed scallops along with a bowl of the seafood chowder (that was more American). The staff was polite. The food was fresh and tasted good. The inside of the restaurant was modest. Not elegant, but appropriate for the location off the boardwalk.
This place is AMAZING!!! The food is absolutely fresh and tasty. We had shrimps, crabs and fish. All 10/10. The service is OUTSTANDING. We will be back next time.

Located on the scenic waterfront at 3540 Bayview St in Richmond, BC, The Crab King Fish Port Seafood Bistro is a charming destination for seafood lovers seeking fresh, flavorful fare paired with a relaxed coastal atmosphere. The bistro’s rustic decor, featuring wooden beams and large windows, invites natural light and offers serene views of docked boats, setting the perfect backdrop for a memorable meal.
The true highlight here is the seafood—carefully prepared and generously portioned. Diners consistently praise the garlic-infused scallops and prawns, which strike a balance between freshness and boldness. The grilled abalones and oysters arrive with subtle yet satisfying garlic sauce, complementing their natural brininess without overwhelming the palate. One customer’s softshell crab burger showed promise, though its portion size and seasoning left room for improvement; however, the salmon and the classic fish and chips, served with light batter and excellent tartar sauce, are definite standouts.
The team behind the counter shows genuine hospitality, especially notable in their attentiveness to families—offering kids' toys and coloring books, enhancing the dining experience for all ages. Service may vary slightly, but kindness and care remain constants. Pairing your meal with a local craft beer, such as Russell Brewing’s crisp offerings, enhances the flavors and complements the maritime ambiance beautifully.
Overall, The Crab King Fish Port Seafood Bistro shines as a hidden gem on the Richmond waterfront. Its fresh, herb-laced seafood dishes, cozy yet open dining space, and the soothing view of the harbor combine to create an inviting retreat. Whether you’re after a casual lunch featuring Asian-style fish and chips or a leisurely dinner with oysters and scallops, this bistro delivers a heartfelt taste of the sea worth returning for.
